Saturday 14th May 2022. First stop was Gare de Caen to pick up Rodney and then to Ouisteram for a Buffalo Grill. Time was tight and service was soooooo slow.

Sunday 14th and Monday 15th May 2022 we stayed our first night in the Travelodge at Mansfield except that it is in Sutton in Ashfield near to Kings Mill Hospital.

All Travelodge Hotels are the same inside. Clean and simple.

But rather sparse on furnishings with only one seat for two people and no table. Also the mains socket to charge the tablet is 6 metres from the bed.

Beer battered fish, chips and mushy peas - except the batter was not beer and the chips were wedges. When I complained they brought me French Fries, again not chips. We had better fish and chips in Scarborough.

No sugar, no sauce, no salt and pepper etc. At 8am, the cafe was open from 7am and clearly not prepared for the day.

Another travelodge in the middle of nowhere at the side of a busy dual carriageway to York.

and a bus stop right outside the hotel with the Coastliner to York. Coming back was not so easy as the bus stop was a mile away and hoping over the crash barriers was not ideal.

Roark's Kitchen, Ballintoy, N Ireland. At the price charged I would expect better than a plastic cup, a card tray, an undercooked fruit scone, a wooden knife and squirty cream. Yuk. It was not good.
